Importance of JIRA

JIRA is a tool which allows you to maintain all the steps that are to be executed to develop a project considering all requirements and research required.

Today if we consider living in a home its walls need to be strong to hold the roof, to stand strong even in bad weather or heavy rain or storm. If we consider eating tasty food, even vegetable chopping time is to be decided according to when we are going to start cooking and till what time we need food ready.

All these things need planning as well as the capability to remove imperfection and flaws.

Jira is a software application used for issue tracking and project management. The tool, developed by the Australian software company Atlassian, has become widely used by agile development teams to track bugs, stories, epics, and other tasks.

Jira software can be used for the following purposes:

  1. Requirements and Test case management
  1. In Agile Methodology
  1. Project Management
  1. Software Development
  1. Product Management
  1. Task Management
  1. Bug Tracking

Software applications making many things in today's life easier are the same as constructing a building or cooking a delicious meal. It will be perfect only with proper planning and the capability to remove imperfections and flaws.

As far as I know, JIRA helps for the same. We can add our plans to it, we can add images, we create stories which remind us of what to do next till the project is completed and maybe even after that.

JIRA is based on the following three concepts – Project, Issue and Workflow.

We can get to know more about its features and product guide on official website Jira | Issue & Project Tracking Software | Atlassian.

Core Features of Jira : -

  1. Boards

JIRA supports Scrum and Kanban boards.

Helps to quickly review the progress of the project and see the status of the individual tasks.

  1. Task Detail

Status of every task, comment, attachment and due dates are stored in one place.

Keep track of work status or say a task like to do, in progress, done.

  1. Add -Ins

Wide range of add-ins makes it universal across the globe.

  1. Notifications

Voting and watching features to keep an eye on the progress for the stakeholders. Updates can be notified on Email or messaging app like slack also.

  1. Sharing
  1. Sharing a project so if one person in a team misses something the other one can notice it.
  1. If a specific person handling an issue is unable to continue for some reason, then it makes it easier for another one to continue the pending work just by reading about stories, status, bugs and issues on JIRA.

So this is how JIRA can be a useful project management tool to handle your projects more efficiently, and minimise bugs during the development process.
